DUTIES AND POWERS:

The planning commission shall have all of the powers and duties explicitly or impliedly given planning commissions by the laws of the state. (UCA l0-9a-302).
Each office on the planning commission shall have the following duties:
1. Chairperson. The Chairperson's duties are as follows: conduct planning commission meetings, directs the Secretary to organize the planning commission's agenda, be the first line of contact for Duchesne City on planning or zoning issues, present to the governing body any and all recommendations made by the planning commission, and is the first Iine of contact for building permit authorizations.
2. Secretary. The Secretary's duties are as follows: creates planning commission's agenda under the direction of the Chairperson and files the agenda with the city recorder as required by public notice procedures, ensures each planning commission meeting is recorded, records the meeting minutes of the planning commission and sends the minutes out to other commissioners for edits or revisions, files meeting minutes and recordings with city recorder, is the second line of contact for planning or zoning issues as well as building permit authorizations when the Chairperson is not available, acts as chairperson when chairperson is absent, and presents to the governing body any and all recommendations made by the planning commission when the Chairperson is absent.
3. Commissioner. The Commissioner's duties are as follows: Attend meetings, Acts as Chairperson and/or Secretary where Chairperson and/or Secretary is absent, is the third line of contact for planning or zoning issues when Chairperson and Secretary are absent, be familiar with Duchesne City's ordinances and zoning requirements, is the third line of contact for building permit authorizations when Chairperson and Secretary are absent.
4. The following duties are not the responsibility of the Planning Commission: verify setbacks, verify property lines or stakes in the ground, answer or take daily phone calls or text messages for planning or zoning questions that are general in nature and can be easily answered by city office personnel or the Mayor.
