1. Created: There is hereby created the office of building inspector within the city. The city council shall fill the office of building inspector, and shall appoint a building inspector and such other officers as may be deemed necessary to administer and enforce the provisions of this title.
2. Powers And Duties:
1. It shall be the duty of the building inspector to inspect or cause to be inspected all buildings in the course of construction or repair. This person shall enforce all the provisions of this title, entering actions in the court when necessary and his failure to do so shall not legalize any violation of such provisions.
2. Upon appeal to the city council, planning commission or board of adjustment of any matters on which said bodies are required to pass, the building inspector shall forthwith transmit all papers and other pertinent data pertaining to the appeal to said bodies.
3. The building inspector shall also refer matters to the state health department and other agencies as required by this title. (Ord. 93-3, 9-1-1993)
