COMPENSATION:
1. Elected and Statutory Officials: The elected and statutory officials of the City of Duchesne include the Mayor, Councilmembers, Planning Commissioners and Secretary, Public Works Director, Fire Chief, City Treasurer, City Recorder, and Deputy Recorder. Compensation for elected and statutory officials is included and presented annually in the City’s public budget hearing as per S.B. 91 amending Utah Code Section 10-3-81 8 regarding City employees’ salaries.The city will follow Ord. 24-1 established on 06/25/2024 and Ord. 25-2 established 04/22/2025 to accept the current year’s Compensation Disclosure Document by resolution for the given fiscal year. The annual or hourly compensation for elected and statutory officials of Duchesne City, absent any market, performance or merit adjustments is contained in the Compensation Disclosure Document. The annual or hourly compensation for elected and statutory officials of Duchesne City, absent any market, performance or merit adjustments that might apply is as follows:
Mayor - 33,600.06
Council Members - $3,800
Planning and Zoning Commissioners - Chairman and Secretary $60.00 per meeting attended,
Commissioners $40.00 per meeting attended, up to $1,440.00 annually for Chairman and Secretary and
up to $960.00 annually for Commissioners.
Public Works Director - $89,059.57
Fire Chief - $8,961.00
City Treasurer - $44,990.40
City Recorder - $62,316.80
HR Director- $64,188.80
2. Benefits: In addition to the salary paid the officers and employees of this municipality, they shall receive the following benefits:
1. The employee's share of the social security tax.
2. Health and accident insurance for themselves and their families on such basis and cost to the employee or officer as the governing body may from time to time establish by motion or resolution.
3. Vacation and sick leave on such a basis as the governing body may from time to time establish by motion or resolution.
4. Participation in the state retirement programs on such basis and cost as the governing body may from time to time establish by motion or resolution.
3. Serving Two Or More Positions: Whenever any person serves in two (2) or more positions either as officers or employees of this municipality, unless otherwise specifically provided in the employment agreement, by ordinance or resolution, the person shall receive the salary or compensation of the office or employment paying the greater amount.
4. Travel Expenses: In addition to all other compensation or salaries any officer or employee of this municipality may receive, following the submission to the city recorder of a claim, travel expenses and per diem established by city policy. (Ord. 86-4, 3-11-1986, eff. 3-20-1986; amd. 2004 Code)
