Welcome to Duchesne City!
As spring arrives in Duchesne, residents are reminded to prepare for the upcoming irrigation season and changing weather conditions. Please check sprinkler systems for leaks or damage before use, and be mindful of water conservation efforts due to ongoing drought conditions across Utah.
Spring cleanup is a great time to clear debris from yards and gutters to help prevent drainage issues. Residents are also encouraged to stay alert for changing weather, as April can bring sudden temperature shifts, wind, and occasional storms.
City offices will post any updates regarding water usage guidelines, road maintenance, and community events on this website. Thank you for helping keep Duchesne safe, clean, and prepared this season.
Duchesne City, located in northeastern Utah, serves as the gateway to the Uintah Basin and has long been a center for agriculture, ranching, and regional commerce. The area was originally inhabited by the Ute Indian Tribe before settlers established the community in the early 1900s. Duchesne was officially incorporated in 1913 and named after the nearby Duchesne River, which played a vital role in the area’s development. Today, the city continues to grow while maintaining its strong rural heritage, close-knit community, and connection to the surrounding natural landscape.
